Hugh M. Smith is a well-known real estate leader, visionary,
and professional. His journey began in 1979 as a
salesperson, advancing to a Broker by 1983. His influential
career spans roles at Anderson-Stokes, Inc., LaMotte
Properties, Tred Avon Properties, Coldwell Banker Real
Estate, and as the Founding Broker of Coldwell Banker
Chesapeake Real Estate Company. Additionally,Smith
served as a Public Communications Officer for the
Chesapeake Bay Critical Area Commission.
Smith is celebrated for his ethical real estate practices, his
environmental activism and his dedication to aiding those
less fortunate than himself. As an enthusiastic educator,
he has established high standards for himself as well as
his associates, effectively coaching and mentoring
numerous top producers in the region.
Apart from his brokerage activities,Smith is the developer
of the Ratcliffe Farm Subdivision and the Burgee Office
Building. He takes immense pride in his role as the founder
of Habitat For Humanity of Talbot County, which has
constructed and sold 114 homes in Talbot and DorchesterCounties.
Licensed in Maryland, Delaware, and Pennsylvania,Smith

Hugh and his wife Chata, the proud parents of three grown
children,reside on the Tred Avon River between Easton and
Oxford. In his leisure time,Smith enjoys reading, boating,
shooting sporting clays, traveling to unique destinations,
cooking, and cultivating heirloom tomatoes.
