Meet Krista

Hugh Smith. Broker and Owner of Coldwell Banker Chesapeake Real Estate Company, LLC with offices in Chestertown, Easton and Chesapeake City, serving Cecil, Kent, Queen Anne’s, Caroline, Talbot and Dorchester Counties announced today the employment of Krista Batchelor as a Real Estate Agent Support Specialist. Based in the Chestertown Office, “The real estate business is changing dynamically as the consumer continues to migrate on-line for all their real estate needs.”, Says Smith. “ A lot of our competitors have the technology but few train their agents to leverage that technology. Coldwell Banker provides its associates with a powerful tech stack to reach consumers.  Our unique value proposition, though,  is training and agent support. Krista will help to deliver that support as our Real Estate Agent Support Specialist.”

Agent Support Specialist

Krista Batchelor has had a successful professional career that spans more than two decades. Her journey began as a Production Coordinator with Mullin/Ashley Associates, a business-to-business firm located in Chestertown, Maryland. Her reputation quickly grew as the go-to problem solver and ‘firefighter’  thanks to her organizational skills, attention to detail, and quick thinking outside the box. Krista  held various key positions at the company, such as Account/Production/Media & Public Relations Coordinator. She built strong relationships with clients like Eagle Group, Bettcher Industries, W.L. Gore & Associates, and Anne Arundel Medical Center, among others.

Krista then moved on to Paragon Design in Newark.  At Paragon, she oversaw three 4-person design teams, worked with the Production Coordinator and Accounting Department, and served as a daily account contact for clients. She contributed to and executed various marketing needs in multiple forms of media, from print to digital campaigns, complete website builds & redesigns, and in-person trade show events. Some of her clients included Verizon Wireless, University of the District of Columbia, Delaware State University, City of Newark, and The Downtown Newark Association.

To eliminate the commute and allow herself more time at home, Krista moved on from Paragon  to  Washington College in Chestertown as a Human Resources Specialist, Her attention to detail, determination to get the job done no matter the challenges, and compassion helped dissolve most individuals’ stigma of “Going to Human Resources.” She wore multiple hats in this organization and handled most of the day-to-day paperwork, data entry, benefits enrollment, orientations, worker’s comp, leave request, policies and procedures, website updates and blast to employees, coordination of yearly benefit enrollment events, wellness events, clinics, training, and many others. She was seen as the starting point for most functions in the HR Office.

Krista was then offered a hybrid position as Office Administrator with two local companies, Cross Street Realtors and Chestertown Builders, Inc. She was able to lend both companies her varied skill sets along with providing bookkeeping services and a consistent office presence. When the pandemic hit and needs shifted, Krista phased out of Cross Street Realtors and moved to a full-time role at Chestertown Builders, where she added property management, customer account coordination, on-site duties and walk-throughs, personal assistant duties, and many others to her role. She built strong relationships with vendors, clients, and tenants, gaining a varied knowledge from each of these.

Krista is a Cecil County native, growing up in Earleville, where she graduated from Bohemia Manor High School in 1998. She then attended Cecil College, where she completed her Associates Degree in Business Management. Krista comes from a family of volunteers who always give back in as many situations as they can. Her grandfather was a 60-year life Member of Cecilton Volunteer Fire Company, her father passed away as a 31-year Associate member, and her mother continues to be a large part of the fire company and is working on her 25th year as an Associate Member.

Krista now resides in Rock Hall, Maryland, with her husband of 18 years, Steve, and their two children, Brayden (17) and Kyleigh (15). Krista has spent lots of time volunteering over the years in Girl Scouts, various PTA roles and functions, and other community fundraising events. She loves spending time with family and friends, whether that’s on the boat, around a fire pit, at a concert, or just together at home.
